Billing

How plans, payment, changes, cancellation and failed payments work in an Odden Cloud workspace.

Each Odden Cloud workspace has its own plan and its own subscription. This page covers how you pay, how to change or cancel, and what happens if a payment fails.

For what each plan includes and what it costs, see the pricing page. Prices are not repeated here so they stay in one place.

Plans in short

Odden Cloud comes in four plans: Starter, Growth, Suite and Enterprise. They differ in which packages you get (Sales, Marketing, Service), whether the AI features are on, and how many contacts the workspace can hold.

  • Growth includes Sales plus one package of your choice, Marketing or Service. You can switch that choice once in each billing period.
  • Suite includes all three packages.
  • Capacity add-on. Starter, Growth and Suite include up to 10,000 contacts. The capacity add-on raises that to 50,000 contacts and brings more hosted email sends with it.
  • Enterprise is for more than 50,000 contacts and is arranged with us. Write to support@odden.io.

You pay monthly or yearly. Payment is by card, taken by Stripe on its own payment page, so your card details go to Stripe and never reach us.

Trial and paid

A new workspace starts with a 30-day free trial. No card is needed. The trial counts from the day you verify your email address, and we email the owners as it runs down.

During the trial you can try everything. Hosted email, campaigns and sequences need a paid plan, so a trial can send transactional mail and test emails (through your own email server) but not mailings to a list.

When the trial ends without a subscription, the workspace becomes read-only until an owner chooses a plan. Nothing is deleted. See If a payment fails for what read-only means.

Where to find Billing

Open your workspace and choose Workspace, then Billing in the menu. Owners and admins can open the page. Admins can look but not change anything. Only owners can use the buttons at the top.

The page shows your plan (monthly or yearly, the capacity add-on, status, next renewal or end date, trial days left, any scheduled change), your usage (contacts against the limit, hosted email sent this month against the allowance) and, until you subscribe, the plans on offer.

Choose a plan

  1. Open Workspace, Billing.
  2. Select Choose a plan.
  3. Pick the plan, monthly or yearly, and whether you want the capacity add-on. For Growth, pick the package it includes.
  4. Select Continue to payment and pay on Stripe's page.

When you come back to Billing the page waits for Stripe to confirm the payment and updates by itself. If a tax applies where you are, it is added at checkout, before you pay.

Change your plan

Select Change plan (owners only, on an active subscription).

  • An upgrade starts now and is charged pro rata: you pay the difference for the rest of the period you are in.
  • A downgrade takes effect at your next renewal. This covers a lower plan, a shorter billing period (yearly to monthly) and dropping the capacity add-on. You keep what you paid for until then. Billing shows the scheduled change, and Withdraw scheduled change takes it back.

Before a downgrade is accepted:

  • The workspace must hold no more contacts than the new plan allows. Remove contacts, or keep the capacity add-on.
  • If the lower plan switches off a package you use, you must confirm. The data in it is kept, but nobody can reach it until you upgrade again.

You cannot change the plan while a payment is outstanding or while the subscription is set to end. Update the payment method, or select Keep my subscription, first.

Payment method, invoices and receipts

Select Payment method and invoices to open Stripe's customer portal for your workspace. There you can update your card and find your invoices and receipts.

Cancel

  1. Open Workspace, Billing.
  2. Select Cancel subscription and confirm.

A cancelled subscription stays active until the end of the period you paid for, then the workspace becomes read-only. Your data is kept and you can export it. Cancelling does not refund the current period; see Refunds. If you change your mind before the period ends, select Keep my subscription.

The contact limit

Each plan includes a number of contacts. When a workspace reaches its limit, no new contacts can be added. Nothing is deleted and everything you already have keeps working. Upgrade the plan or add capacity to add more.

If a payment fails

When a payment fails, we email the workspace owners at once and again after three days. Stripe retries the payment for up to two weeks. If every retry fails, the subscription is cancelled.

The workspace changes in stages if the payment stays unpaid:

When What happens
7 days after the payment fell due The workspace becomes read-only
14 days after it became read-only Intake closes: public forms, support portal posts and API writes stop, and no new contacts are added
30 days after it became read-only Deletion is scheduled, with notices to the owners and a 30-day grace period (see Your data)

A workspace whose trial or subscription ends follows the same stages from the moment it becomes read-only.

Read-only means you can sign in, look at everything and export your data, but you cannot change anything. Hosted email stops sending and scheduled work waits. Owners can still pay. Links in emails you already sent, such as unsubscribe links, keep working.

To open the workspace again, update the payment method or choose a plan. It reopens as it was.

Refunds

You can ask for a full refund within 30 days of your first payment, with no explanation. A yearly renewal can be refunded in full within 14 days of the renewal payment. A monthly renewal is not covered, so cancel before it renews if you do not want it.

Email support@odden.io to ask. When a refund covers everything you paid, the subscription is cancelled, hosted sending stops, and the workspace becomes read-only. The full rules are in the refund policy and the terms.

Tax

The price is shown at checkout in US dollars. Where a tax applies, it is added at checkout.
